Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Spring has officially arrived, and our neighborhood has positively been abuzz with activity! The trees are blooming, people are dusting off their grills, and all of the sudden it seems like a good idea to just go sit on the stoop and take it all in. What a good time to live in this little corner of South Philly!
In addition, NNA has been making huge strides for the improvement of our community: the Citywide Spring Cleanup was a veritable success, our Zoning team is helping neighbors guide more and more proposed development, and many neighbors found a postcard in their mailboxes recently, kindly inviting them to join us and help in our efforts!
Below, find more about how to get involved, neighborhood happenings, and what NNA has been up to...
Yesterday's General Meeting
Last night, we had one of the best, most diverse and active turn outs for our General Meeting EVER (nearly 30 people)! We even had two candidates for Common Pleas Judge seek us out to speak to attendees during New Business, we had a representative from the Committee of Seventy impart the importance of voting in this year's elections, and we had Committee report-outs that were positively PACKED with activities and updates about YOUR neighborhood. So while the world turns with grief, hope springs eternal in our little corner of Philadelphia.
Clean and Green
On Saturday, April 11, the neighborhood was hard at work as neighbors came together to sweep, clean, and spruce up their blocks. The Clean and Green Committee helped to sign up projects and provide supplies to many of the blocks that registered for the annual Citywide Spring Clean Up. The day was a huge success, with over 20 blocks registered and numerous community members pitching in to help make our neighborhood more beautiful.

Planning & Zoning
Do you have opinions about what gets built or not built in our neighborhood? Of course you do! Come get your voice heard at our next Planning & Zoning meeting. This committee is a leading voice for the changing landscape of our community and they want your involvement!

Community Outreach
The outreach committee is starting to plan its annual Wine & Sangria Tour. (Save the date - July 25th!) If you would like to be a part of the planning committee or a host for the tour, please email MarilysMazzara@Newboldneighbors.org
Also, NNA is excited to be partnering with the Philadelphia Film Society to host a "Movies on the Block" event. YOU help pick the subject, THEY pick the title, and then we convene as neighbors to watch a film about things that matter to this neighborhood that we love. Help us by clicking here and voting below on a subject!
Interested in strengthening relationships in the community? Join the Community Outreach Committee for their next meeting Thursday 4/16 @ 7:30. Email outreach@newboldneighbors.orgfor more info.
